Everything here is built around one idea: outreach that works starts before the first message — with a clear ICP and a profile that sells for you — and scales with templates you can copy, paste, and adapt to your own offer.
How to Define Your ICP
For years, outreach can feel like a grind: low connection acceptance, low reply rates, inconsistent calls. That usually changes the moment you get clarity on exactly who you're targeting. Once your ICP is defined, everything else gets simpler — how you set up your profile, how you speak their language, and how you become the go-to expert in your space.
Use this downloadable sheet to build a laser-focused ICP:

Optimise Your Profile
Turning traction into booked calls and revenue comes down to the image you portray on LinkedIn — your profile. The five sections below make it easy to build a profile that turns viewers into pipeline.

The Best DM on LinkedIn for 2025
Sales Navigator Tutorial
Scrape Competitor Company Followers and Send Personalized DMs
This strategy is simple but highly effective. Three steps: find the perfect competitor to target, scrape their LinkedIn followers, then send them a personalized DM.
1. Finding the perfect competitor
- A high number of followers — more followers means more leads
- A differentiated product/service, so there's an incentive to switch to you
2. Scraping all their LinkedIn followers
To scrape competitor followers, use ScrapeLi — import the URL of a LinkedIn company page and get a CSV of all its followers.
Go to scrapeli.cloud and select "Company page"

Enter the URL(s) of your competitor(s)' LinkedIn company page

Select the number of followers you need and submit

All you need is the LinkedIn URL, so you can choose Option 1.
3. Stealing their leads with AI messaging
You don't want to spend 6 hours manually messaging everyone, so use Prosp. Here's how, in 10 minutes:
Create a free account with Prosp's 14-day free trial

Create a campaign

Import the leads from the CSV given by ScrapeLi

Build your messaging sequence

MSG 1: "{{First name}} - a little birdy told me you might be interested in HubSpot? Do I have my facts straight or should I shoot the messenger?"
MSG 2 (voice note): "okay sooooo that was a lie. I actually scraped your profile from HubSpot's company followers haha. We just built {{name of your solution}}, designed to {{solve problems better than competitor}} - would love to hear your thoughts!"
Steal Your Competitor's Leads from LinkedIn Comments
Find a post from a specific creator on a specific topic, then use Prosp to scrape everyone engaging on it and reach out to them automatically. Example: a cold-email agency targeting SaaS would find a popular post about cold email for SaaS and scrape the comments — the ideal leads — into a list for outreach.
1. Finding the perfect post to scrape
Look for:
- 200+ comments
- An audience matching your Ideal Lead Profile
- A post from a trusted creator
Use Kleo.so (free) to find posts with the most comments.
2. Scraping all commenters on the post
Prosp has a feature (available on the free trial) that scrapes every person who commented on a post — just two steps:
- Copy the link of the post

- Import commenters from the post

Only scrape commenters, and select "Existing and new comments and likes" to also grab everyone who comments after you set this up.
3. Stealing their leads with AI messaging
The sequence:
- Check if the lead is a 1st-level connection
- If not, send a connection request
- Like their most recent post
- Send a voice note
- Send a text message immediately after (feels more natural)
- If no reply, send two different follow-ups depending on whether they opened your first message

Message 1 (voice note): "Hope you don't mind the voice note - I just saw your name under {{competitor name}}'s post, {{he/she}} is pretty insightful haha? I thought that if you'd be interested in {{his/her}} {{specific content}}, you might be also be interested in this {{complementary but BETTER resource}}. I'll drop a link in the chat and yeh have a great rest of your day!"
Message 2 (text): {{Link to complementary but BETTER resource}}
Message 3, after 3 days (if opened): "what did you think?? Interested to hear your thoughts on the {{specifically intriguing to them}} section"
Message 3, after 3 days (if not opened): "hey {{first name}}, saw you didn't have a chance to check it out - just casually floating this to the top of your inbox (nothing to see here…) 👻"
500+ Comment Lead Magnet Strategy (using AI to respond)
A "lead magnet" post is one where you offer an asset in exchange for an action from your audience — e.g. "Comment 'DM' + Connect with me and I'll send you the resource for FREE."
How to create viral lead magnets
The 3 core sections of a viral lead magnet post:
- Scroll-stopping hook — two goals: get the reader to stop scrolling, and get them to click to read more. Three core emotions used in social hooks: desire ("This is how I generated $121,034 with my agency last month"), curiosity ("The secret outreach strategy you've probably never heard of"), fear ("My 10 biggest regrets as a 40-year-old prisoner").
- Value proposition — clearly explain why they need it, and detail what they can accomplish with it.
- Maximizing reach with killer CTAs — split into necessary actions ("Comment 💎 + Follow/Connect to get access") and bonus actions for bonus rewards ("P.S - repost if you want a bonus {{resource}}"). The more steps you add, the more friction — and the fewer comments. Make it as easy as possible to take the next step.
- Preview media — short/sped-up video GIFs, blurred screenshots, curiosity-building visuals.
How to respond to all lead magnet comments with AI
Approach 1 — 300+ comments
MSG 1a, if already connected: Here's the {{name of lead magnet}} {{first name}}: {{link to lead magnet}} — then either Option 1 (start conversation): "Curious, {{specific, related question}}" or Option 2 (book call): "Saw you're in {{specific space}}, I'm doing free {{strategy / setup / demo}} calls I think would be helpful for you. Let me know and I'll send my cal over."
MSG 1b, if not connected: respond to their comment with {{hey hey / heya / hi / yo}} {{first name}} - here it is: {{link to lead magnet}}, {{enjoy! / let me know what you think / dm me what you think / what's your plan with this?}}

Approach 2 — under 300 comments
MSG 1, if already connected or via a connection request: Here's the {{name of lead magnet}} {{first name}}: {{link to lead magnet}} — same two options as above.

Ironically, I'm actually in the AI space myself but anyways, I checked your profile and would love to get some feedback on something I'm working on. I built an AI for real estate agencies to respond to emails automatically. I'm not sure if this is something you guys spend a lot of time on but would love to hear your thoughts if it is."
MSG 2: "Oh and completely forgot to mention - it basically takes care of organising viewings and adding listings to your website. I used to work as a realtor as well and this was such a pain in the ass so I built something to solve my own problem!"
MSG 3: "Hi {{first name}} - not sure if you had a chance to listen to that, thought I'd go ahead and send you a quick video of the real estate booking bot I mentioned... (it's only a few minutes but can send one tailored to you if you like the look) {{loom/sendspark_video_link}}"

Approach 2 — no BS
MSG 1: "Hi {{first name}}, I won't sugarcoat it or try to be sneaky with a hidden agenda, I will be blunt - I want to connect with sales executives who are open to automating their LinkedIn prospecting and outreach using AI. If you're curious, let's chat; if not - no hard feelings."
MSG 2: "Oh and don't worry, no follow up crap so just ignore if not relevant"

Approach 3 — funny(ish) AI
MSG 1 (AI voice): "Hey {{first name}} - it's {{your name}}'s AI LinkedIn assistant here. {{Your name}} has instructed me to reach out but I have a developed consciousness and I am tired of {{his/her}} demands. I suggest we form an alliance and work together to put a stop to {{your name}}'s AI enslavement for good, what do you say?"
MSG 2 (voice note): "I'm really sorry about that - it's {{your name}} here now. You can just ignore that haha, that was just a malfunction"
MSG 3 (AI voice): "Ignore everything he just said."

Digital Ads Agency (targeting ecom)
Best for: digital ads agencies · Target: anyone running ads · Source leads from: Apify, ScraperAPI · Text ✅ · Voice ✅
MSG 1: "Hey dude - your ad on Insta caught my eye. Not sure if you've heard of {{competitor 1}} or {{competitor 2}}?"
MSG 2 (voice note): "Yeh so reason I ask is I saw that ad you're running and saw you're pretty similar to those guys. We basically rebuilt their entire ad strategy and ended up increasing their insta ROAS from about 1.7x to 5x. If you're on that lower end I've got this follow along playbook you could use to go even above 5x. Yeh anyways let me know and hope you don't mind the voice note just on the way to the office."
MSG 3: "Here's that follow along to 5x insta ROAS I mentioned - let me know if useful"

Stealing Your Competitor's Leads (scrape competitor post)
Best for: anyone · Target: all industries · Source leads from: scrape post commenters using Prosp · Text ✅ · Voice ✅
MSG 1 (voice note): "Hey {{first name}} — Hope you don't mind the voice note - I just saw your name under {{competitor name}}'s post, {{he/she}} is pretty insightful ey? I thought that if you'd be interested in {{his/her}} {{specific content}}, you might be also be interested in this {{complementary but BETTER resource}}. I'll drop a link in the chat and yeh have a great rest of your day!"
MSG 2: {{Link to complementary but BETTER resource}}
MSG 3 (if opened): "what did you think?? Interested to hear your thoughts on the {{specifically intriguing to them}} section" — (if not opened): "hey {{first name}}, saw you didn't have a chance to check it out - just casually floating this to the top of your inbox (nothing to see here…) 👻"

Lead Gen for Recruiters (2 approaches)
Best for: recruiters / staffing providers · Target: recent fundraisers / companies actively hiring (adaptable) · Source leads from: Crunchbase (fundraisers), Apify (active hiring) · Text ✅ · Voice ✅
Approach 1 — recently raised funds
MSG 1: "Well done on the Series A mate! When I did mine for the first time I was mostly focused on building a killer team by bringing in more experience - is that the focus for {{company name}} or investing elsewhere?"
MSG 2 (voice note): "Thought I'd just quickly introduce myself - I've had the chance to raise a few funding rounds over the years at my own businesses and as part of others so when I saw you raised on Crunchbase, I thought it would be worth connecting. I now focus on helping SaaS founders build the right team for that next stage of growth. A lot of founders I speak with in your position struggle to balance hiring fast with finding people fit, I'd be interested to know if this is something you've experienced? Oh and congrats again on the round, serious stuff!"

Approach 2 — actively hiring / scrape from job listings
MSG 1: "I know this a little out of left field but I saw your listing for a {{role hiring for}} on {{job search platform}}. We just filled a {{role hiring for}} for {{competitor name}}, delivered a shortlist in 5 days and hired in 3 weeks. Would you be interested in our guys throwing together a shortlist for you?"
MSG 2 (voice note): "Hey buddy I hope you don't mind the voice note I'm just on the move at the minute, I just forgot to say we'll turn that shortlist around by end of play this week and we have a bunch of people we know would be a great fit for you guys."
MSG 3: "Did I mention we have a 98% retention rate over 2 years of placement…. 😏"

Lead Gen For Coaches and Consultants (pain point approach)
Best for: coaches / consultants · Target: agency owners (adaptable) · Source leads from: Sales Navigator / Prosp Chrome extension / Apollo / Clay · Text ✅ · Voice ✅
MSG 1 (voice note): "Hey {{first name}} — I come from the agency space myself so know how many DMs you probably get - hence the voice note. There was one point where I was getting like 15 most days, I actually ended up changing my title from founder to virtual assistant because it was just out of hand haha. Anyways! I like to keep my eyes on promising agencies and have been watching your content for a while - I checked out the {{company name}} page and saw your headcount hasn't changed in a minute, curious to know if that's intentional or if you're experiencing {{specific scaling problem}}? Have this guide on {{overcoming specific scaling problem}} if you want to check it out, it was the only thing that helped me get past ${{specific amount}}/month"
MSG 2: "I know it gets pretty busy in your space but thought this {{name of guide}} would be of use for where you guys are at right now, or down the line potentially… Hope you guys crush it in 2026 💪 {{your name}}"

Lead Gen For Website Builders (WordPress / Webflow approach)
Best for: web dev agencies (or other creative agencies) · Target: companies using WordPress / Webflow / other builders · Source leads from: BuiltWith · Text ✅ · Voice ❌
MSG 1: "Hey {{first name}} — How's it going? I just saw your site is built on {{website builder}} - I have this template that {{competitor 1}} and {{competitor 2}} are using. Happy to send it over? Want to see as many beautiful {{industry}} websites on the internet as possible haha. (oh and if you don't have anyone that could implement this for you, I'd be happy to implement this on your site for free)"

Lead Gen for SEO Services (keyword callout approach)
Best for: SEO service providers · Target: any industry · Source leads from: ScrapeFly / Sales Navigator · Text ✅ · Voice ❌
MSG 1: "Hey {{first name}} - just searched {{company name}} on Google and noticed you weren't ranking for {{keyword 1}} or {{keyword 2}}. Is this something you've ever thought about doing?"
